FIRE INSPECTORS
Fire inspectors have a vast array of responsibilities aimed at ensuring compliance with appropriate codes and regulations. They perform annual inspections of all buildings and facilities of public service and occupancies regulated by the Connecticut State Fire Safety Code. These include apartments, assembly halls, doctor and dentist offices, churches, schools and colleges, correction centers, restaurants, shopping centers, supermarkets, theaters, warehouses and many other venues. They are also responsible for investigating the cause and origin of fires within their jurisdiction and for providing safety tips and advice to the public. All fire inspectors are certified by the State Fire Marshal.
